good morning to everyone who is on my blog

today we went to the MAG'OKI  ATTORIY MOSQUE

Magok-i-Attari Mosque is a historical mosque in Bukhara. It forms a part of the historical religious complex of Lyab-i Hauz. The Magoki-Attori Mosque in the city's centre is an example of an urban mosque in a residential quarter. The mosque was built on the site of the pre-lslamic Mokh or Moon temple. It is a must visit place in Bukhara while you are in Uzbekistan Tours.

History Of Magoki-Attori Mosque:

The Magoki-Attori Mosque In Bukhara is said to be built on the remains of a Zoroastrian temple from the pre-Islamic era. Before the Arab conquest there was a bazaar on the site of Magok-i Attari. It was a market for idols, potions and spices, perfumes and other goods. There was a Temple of the Moon (Mokh) close to this place.

Before the construction of the first synagogue Jews in Bukhara had shared a place in a mosque with Muslims. The mosque is also notable for being one of the oldest surviving mosques in Central Asia and one of the few surviving buildings in Bukhara from the time before the Mongolian invasion. Now the Magok-i-Attari Mosqueis one of the Bukhara Attraction
